
Not Quite Stockinette: A Knitting Stitch Pattern
This pattern is a subtle play on the stockinette stitch. Perfect when you find the long rows of just knit unbearable. Plus, it gives any design a little bit of added interest.

The Pattern
ST: Stitch SL: Slip One Stitch K: Knit P: Purl YO: Yarn Over
Using any set of needles,
Cast On in sets of 4
Row1: Knit Across
Rows 2, 4, 6: Purl Across
Row3: *SL 2nd ST on left needle over 1st ST, K1, YO, K2* Repeat from * to * to end of row.
Row5: * K1, SL 2nd ST on left needle over 1st ST, K1, YO K1* Repeat from * to * to end of row.
Repeat rows 3-6 until the piece is desired length.
Finishing: Repeat row 1, binding off as you work.
