Land of the Living
“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” – Psalm 27:13 NKJV
I ran into this verse recently and was struck by how true it rang for so many moments in life. The first part of this verse is the emblem of faith, the ideal strength. That, even through the darkest moments, being able to believe that there is still hope and there is still grace. “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed”. Faith is an important part of diligence. Without faith, it is easy to lose passion and endurance for your cause. When the unexpected happens, when life comes crashing down, faith is what guides you through.
The second part of this verse represents faith in God’s constant promise. “that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. In the land of the living, not just in Heaven, but here on earth. Here, miracles will happen, here, His mercies will be shown. It is important to maintain faith and practice hope, remembering this ever true promise. He is always seeking for your good.
