
Diamonds: A Knitting Stitch Pattern
The Diamond stitch pattern is a favorite of mine. It is simple to knit but creates a classic texture between the crosses. I often use this pattern for solid color knitting patterns to keep a piece interesting.

The Pattern
K: Knit P: Purl ST: Stitch
Using any set of needles,
Cast On in sets of 5
Row1: *P1, K4* Repeat from * to * to end of row.
Rows 2: P3 *K1, P1, K1, P2* Repeat from * to * to last 2 sts, K1, P1.
Row3: K2 *P2, K3* Repeat from * to * to last 3 sts, P2, K1.
Row4: *K1, P2, K1, P1* Repeat from * to * to end of row.
Row5: *P1, K4* Repeat from * to * to end of row.
Repeat rows 1-5 until the piece is desired length.
